Maybe the previous installation was corrupted by something. Some will need a little more voltage (and make a little more heat), some will need a lot more voltage (and make a lot more heat). It all depends on how much extra voltage it takes to get the FX 8300 to 4 GHz. This one isn't even being specifically run as administrator (I'm already the admin, but anyway). An FX 8300 CPU overclocked to 4 GHz may generate more or less heat than a non overclocked FX 8350. I sometimes use Angus Monitor when I want to see both the CPU Core and CPU Socket temperature at the same time and graph the changes over time. Temps are shown, voltages too, everything works perfectly fine. The temperature changes as the CPU clock goes up and down due to changes in core activity. You know what? I removed my software, didn't clean registry or anything, downloaded a newer version, installed, imported the LCD config and voilà ! it's working again the way it used to.

I doubt ThermalRadar could be in conflict with this software since I did have them both on the system ever since I installed Windows 7 (quite a long time ago) and there were no problems until recently.
